on a break

We are in sunny California taking a break from our day to day.  So far we've seen the ocean, Shamu, and the Mexican Border Patrol (we were only stuck there for three hours today).  More on all this later...

The boys and me at Sea World

The dolphin show may or may not have made me cry....

Larry who can't sit still...sat still.
P.S. for the record, I was AGAINST the Tijuana shopping trip but everyone convinced me I was being paranoid.  But when the dogs and guns came out....whole new attitude.

For my Senior trip after HS my friends and I stayed in a beach house in San Diego. My mom told me to have fun, but DO NOT go to TJ. So...we went to TJ for the day. Walking home across the boarder I bought an ankle bracelet (that makes me sound old) from a Mexican man who would make me an even better deal if I kissed him on the cheek. I was half an inch away from his cheek when he turned his head and I smooched him on the lips. He had a mustache.

Belive, the Shamu show, may or may not bring a tear to my eye.

Oh man, why am I in school!? I want to go to Cal, and MIGHT want to go to mexico. Only if I know I can do so without being subjected to a cavity search! Hope it went well for you ;)

How fun! I love San Diego. We went there on our honeymoon. We also went to Tijuana for the day to shop...although that was the 90s and I guess they were friendly then. For example, one of the nice men offered me free admission to any of the "peep" shows Jared wanted to attend. And another threw in free plastic bag to carry home the stuff I just purchased from him. Those were the good o'le days...

Too bad about TJ its always a disappointment and always a regret because its so lame and scary.

I recognize on of the girls in your pictures (Rebecca), she is my beast friend's sister. In fact she was the one that told me about your blog, we both love it!

All safety reasons aside, the overwhelming smell of urine that envelopes Tijuana is reason enough for me to stay away. I'll gladly pay more for my 'Imported Mexican Vanilla' as long as I don't have to deal with the stench that is Baja.
