my day was worse than yours

7 am: Poo all over the crib, carpet, hands, blankets, sheets (4th time in a week, no joke).

8:30 am: Return from running in the hot hot hot hot sun and feel discouraged

8:30-1:30: Diaper on, diaper off, diaper on, diaper off, diaper on, diaper off, diaper on..........

1:30: Screaming two year old, screaming baby, mad mama...

4:30: Lennon wakes up whining. And whines about everything the rest of the day.
5:30: Errands. Lennon eats three suckers so we can ride in peace.
7:00: Dinner. Larry screams while Lennon enjoys watching my head spin: "I want some water, Mama. No...ICE WATER!!! I want a corndog, Mama....no, CHICKEN NUGGETS! Cut my banana with a sharp (knife)....DON'T CUT MY BANANA! NO TOUCH!"
7:15: Finally feeding Larry when Lennon decides (clear across the room) it's time to get down from his chair. So I feed Larry for 15 minutes while Lennon screams, "GET OUT, MAMA! GET OUT, MAMA! I'm full, GET OUT! WASH MY HANDS!"

8 pm: Lennon tells me (while I put on his pajamas): "Mama, don't hold Larry. Just hold me."

I wanted to bawl.

9:00 pm: Still have not brushed my teeth. Tomorrow will be better. And I will hold Lennon a little more.

Oh, I'm so glad I'm not alone. Went to the mall today with both kids.

I'm never doing that again.

Does it ever get easier???

Seriously, how did our moms do it?

I could not help but remember Karate Kid, when you mentioned..."Diaper on, Diaper off..." If it is anything like "Wax on, Wax off.." maybe your actually getting some sort of super training that will come in useful when you least expect it!

Hang in there...tomorrow will be better! Dinner and bedtime are the hardest hours of the day for me (especially if Brandon is working late), so I've learned some survival techniques--like getting dinner and everything else ready in the morning when I still have energy. You'll learn what works for your family too!

Yikes! I'm sorry you had such a bad day. Maybe Cohen will be an only child...

I can't tell you how many days I have had that are exactly like you just described. Add being stuck in your house for thirteen days straight because it's 30 below and a blizzard outside. I wanted to die.

It gets better. Much better. Mine play and entertain each other all day. Right this second, Deacon has trapped Xavier under a laundry basket and is standing on top triumphantly.

Little boys are the best.
