Three weeks old and can already...
...lift his head and lay it in the other direction
...spit up lots of milk
...smile (on accident)(when asleep)
...unravel himself from his blanket burrito
...sleep for five straight hours at night (it's happened a couple times)
...hold our fingers tightly
...enjoy a warm bath
...cry upstairs loud enough for us to hear him downstairs
...cross his eyes
...scratch my back when eating
...handle a walk around the almost four mile loop in his Bjorn
...discern good music from bad -- last night in the car he screamed when a country song came on the radio, so I switched the station to a Prince song and he immediately calmed down. True story.
...sport the blinged out pacifier Aunt Megan made for him. We LOVE it!

I don't want to brag but...
This is a picture of me at three weeks old. I am thrilled to report that Lennon looks very similar to his mom as a baby. It makes me so happy and his dad so sad; Tod wants his son to look like HIM. Sunday, July 22, 2007

Night Out
Lennon experienced his first night out on Friday. Grandma Wever helped us out this week, so we all treated ourselves to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

Smallest Spider Monkey
Lennon, his Grandma Carol and I ventured out of the house last night. He watched his dad play two softball games in a row without even a whimper. He cheered the Spider Monkeys to their victory in the first game and sadly watched them barely lose the second. The sun was already down so it was nice and cool outside. Grandma Carol kept cheering for the Monkey Boys...Lennon kept reminding her it was SPIDER Monkeys, not Monkey Boys. She appreciated the correction.Monday, July 16, 2007
Cooling off...
It was so hot in Vegas yesterday, we decided to take a drive. We ended up exploring Mt. Charleston (good idea, Megan!) and it was gorgeous. It reminded me of the mountains back home PLUS it was a cool 80 degrees outside. Lennon was a bit shocked by the temperature change as you can see but as soon as he was wrapped up he enjoyed the scenery and company. I stayed fairly calm the entire excursion except when I made Tod pull over so I could check to see if Lennon was breathing. He humored me and pulled over, which I appreciated.

This week...

Later that day, Grandma Karen was rocking Lennon and singing to him. As soon as she started singing, he lifted his head, folded his arms under his chin and listened. We did NOT pose him for this picture! I couldn't get a good face shot, but look at his hands! We thought that was so funny.

Lennon woke up this morning with scratches all over his face. Now he gets to wear little mitts to keep his face safe. Tod prefers to call them his boxing gloves.
Daddy and son -- Tod has a hard time leaving the house now because he always wants one more hug...
Last night, Lennon experienced his first sponge bath at home. He resisted in the beginning until he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. Seeing how good he made it look, Lennon calmly allowed us to proceed. He LOVED getting his hair washed!Monday, July 9, 2007
The other day, Lennon peed all over the place. I was casually changing his diaper and before I knew what was happening, he was squirting all over me, himself, his clean change of clothes, etc...
, but I still think his fans out there should know what he can do.Saturday, July 7, 2007
Introducing Lennon Tod Wever! He is here. His name is Lennon. He didn't have a name for his first 24 hours. Then it was suggested and it stuck. Tod wrote it, rewrote it, said it a million times and we both saw Lennon when we looked at him.
My water broke at 4:30 am on Thursday morning. So we headed to the hospital and took this picture. Obviously the contractions had not started to hurt yet...
16 hours later Tod told me I'd delivered a baby boy. He weighed 8 lbs. and 5 ounces. HUGE! His hair looked reddish at first but once they washed him off we saw light brown hair with blonde tips. He definitely has his dad's nose so far...
He was extremely quiet the entire first night. I kept waking up because he was too quiet. The nurses told me to enjoy it but unfortunately I was so nervous I didn't. He isn't quiet anymore.
He looks just like Tod. Each day I've noticed more and more how his different faces look like his dad's.

After he was delivered, I felt pretty good. The next day I was okay but sort of felt like I'd been hit by a truck. I think I'm recovering well and we were blessed with a really smooth delivery.

Today we brought him home. It was a little scary to leave the hospital, put him in a car, and just wait for other cars to hit us and hurt him somehow. Then I kept thinking of all the scary things that could happen -- what if we dropped him? What if he stopped breathing? What if his car seat didn't work? Being a parent is already such a huge change.

We are so excited to have him home. Tod is putting him down for his first nap in his new house right now! Thanks for all your phone calls, emails, text messages, etc...we'll keep posting pictures as they come.

On the boat and on the planes...
I came downstairs this morning and found Tod blasting Neil Diamond's "Coming to America." He really knows how to ring in the 4th of July right. The song says so much in just three minutes. We still have no baby, but we have Neil Diamond. I guess we can't complain. Today makes me miss Tommy who's serving a mission in Guatemala -- today is his favorite holiday so we're missing him today.

Since we have no baby pictures YET to post, here are some recent shots of the nursery. Tod finished hanging the Babar pictures today and they look so cute! He is doing different yoga poses in each one so it's a good fit. The changing table is all ready to go -- now we just need a baby! I have an appointment for Friday morning to begin induction if nothing happens before then. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
ased because it was so cute...we still don't know if it's a boy or girl yet! But just in case......
