Memorial weekend was rough.
I was emotional and sad and missing Kristi and seeing pictures of her grave all weekend and I just felt out of sorts.
That Sunday night Jen texted me: Want to go to the lake tomorrow?
I grew up boating with neighbors and friends most of my life. I love Lake Powell, I love water skiing, I LOVE BEING OUT IN THE SUN ON THE WATER.
I have not felt as happy as I did that day in months. It was exactly what I needed.
What I didn't realize was that we would be spending the day on her parents' 65 foot long house boat. This is the way to go my friends.
Pure bliss. I have felt so much better ever since. I am thankful for friends who seem to know what I need when I need it. And thankful for my mama for helping me go.
Looks like so much fun! Next time instead of helping you go...I'm coming!!!!!
Me too! We used to go out on houseboamts when Tod and his sibs were young. Lake Shasta and Trinity Lake in northern Ca. I loved it so much. One time just the kids and I and a girlfriend and her kids went. We pulled our ski boat behind. She was afraid to drive houseboat or ski boat, so I had my hands full. Those were the days!! So glad you could go Holly. The best thing you could have done!😊
